Your appointment letter will explain any preparation needed, such as having a full bladder or avoiding food and drink.
A cool jelly is applied to the skin and the probe is moved gently over the area while images are produced.
We do not provide results directly to patients. Your report is sent securely to your referring clinician, who will discuss the findings with you.
We do not offer pregnancy scans or fertility scanning.
Your doctor will need to refer you directly to the specialist team at Spire Dunedin Hospital, as we are unable to take direct referrals.
Ultrasound scans usually take around 15 to 20 minutes, depending on the type of scan.
